Born in Hanoi in 1967, he graduated from the Hanoi University of Fine Arts in 1989. He paints multi-layered oil on canvas works that are rich in texture. Totally unapologetic about her use of raw colour and manipulation of depth, Linh rejects the notion of collective memory and its links to a past. Instead, his artistic practice has evolved from questioning the position of women in his Vietnamese society. With exhibitions worldwide and paintings in museums across South-East Asia, Linh is one of Vietnam’s shining stars.
