Djaja Hardja is a graduate from The Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta, a state-owned college in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Here he learnt visual, performing and media arts in traditional Indonesian and modern international styles. Java, an Indonesian island, is rich in art and culture and these are intertwined with religion and age-old traditions from the time of early migrants. This culture has had a deep impact on Djaja who has beautifully painted his religious thoughts in acrylic on canvas as well as on buffalo leather. Okapi WAG has some of his masterpieces on display.
